March Madness & Magazines: Life Lately & Monday Musings

March 12, 2018

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks both professionally and personally. I’ve tried a couple times now to sit down and write about real life for Friday Favorites and admittedly kept putting it off. Honestly, I didn’t feel like I had a grasp on my feelings and I haaaaate putting pen to paper, metaphorically speaking, before I’ve fully grasped on everything. Keep reading today’s Monday Musings for more behind the scenes and some personal talk.

March Madness & Magazines: Life Lately & Monday Musings | Wakeup and Makeup

I’ve gotten a TON of new makeup in the past month or so and in an effort to prepare for a big beauty post, I’ve been digging through old favorites and working my way through a ton of new products. I’m due to write a “new beauty” type post to review some new items, but I’ve been thinking about writing a post about destashing and some of the products I haven’t loved. What do y’all think?

How to Impact Young Women: Being Active as a Sorority Alumna

March 5, 2018

Happy Monday! Today’s post is a little different than my usual, but in honor of it being International Badge Day for sorority women, I wanted to talk about why I’m actively involved with my sorority, Sigma Kappa, as an alumna & how grateful I am for the opportunity to impact young women. Bonus: I’m showing off an outfit that’s appropriate badge attire too {for my non Greek friends, that just means its business meeting appropriate!}

3 Ways to Embrace Hygge in Your Home Office

February 22, 2018

Winter blues are real, but they can get pretty intense if you work from home. I’ve been making a conscious effort to practice self-care & to embrace hygge in my home office. I’m hoping to have a full home office reveal further down the road; I’m still in the very early stages of getting things set up.

So let’s start with the elephant in the room; what’s hygge? Hygge is defined as a quality of coziness and comfortable living that brings about a feeling of contentment or well being. The concept of hygge comes from Danish culture.

How I Want to Grow This Year & Holiday Snaps

January 1, 2018

Happy 2018! Last week, I took the week off to enjoy time with my family and also reflect on the year. To be entirely honest, I’ve felt burnt out in multiple aspects of my life the past few months and so sorting through that and setting goals for the New Year was pretty high on my agenda. While I’m not big on traditional resolutions, I do try to sit down each year and make myself a list of goals. I wanted to share those here today, in case any of you have been dealing similar situations and also to help hold myself accountable. Some of my friends choose a word for the year & if you made me choose one, I would say my word for 2018 is GROW.
