Why I’m Not Sweating the Instagram Algorithm Anymore

October 19, 2017

Let’s talk about a hot button issue for bloggers, brands, and influencers: Instagram! Between the unpopular algorithm replacing chronological order, Stories and other new features, Instagram remains one of the most talked about topics for many businesses. Today I’m sharing the frustrations I’ve had and the things I’ve started to do instead of just being annoyed by it.

I’ll admit it, when the algorithm first got introduced I was super frustrated. Over time, I’ve accepted that this is the new way and learned to better prioritize my time when it comes to growing my following and strengthening my online presence.

How to Make Your Work Outfit Halloween Ready

October 4, 2017

Y’all I missed one post and then that turned into two posts last week and things kind of snowballed. {Why is that always the case?} I had a post all ready to go Monday but to be honest when I woke up and heard the news about Las Vegas, I had no desire to hit publish or promote new content. I hope those of you affected by the tragic events know that I’m thinking of you and those of you that weren’t but are watching are practicing self-care during this emotionally difficult time.

Today I’m back and since it’s the first Wednesday of the month, which means I’m teaming up with my How I Style It ladies! This month we’re all embracing October by sharing looks inspired by Halloween. I wanted to share an easy DIY Chill Pill costume that’s appropriate for the office and easy to assemble.

How to Get Your Money’s Worth at a Food Festival

September 19, 2017

If you follow along on Instagram or Snapchat, you may have caught that I attended the Louisville Craft Beer and Food Truck Festival over the weekend. I wanted to share the delicious foods I got to try as well as five tips to help you dominate your next food festival!

Southern lifestyle blogger shares photos from Louisville Craft Beer & Food Truck Festival and how to dominate a food festival. // pollo louisville, longshot lobster, how to dominate a food festival, food truck festivals of america

I first heard about this festival through Facebook & was so thrilled when the organizer, Food Truck Festivals of America (FTFA), invited me out for the day. FTFA travels around the country each year and organizes these festivals so that local communities can come out and discover the different food truck vendors that are already local to them. If you’re near Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Rochester, New York, Princeton, Massachusetts, or Asheville, North Carolina – there’s still time to buy tickets to your local 2017 festival!

Why You Should Buy Clothes That Give You Confidence

September 14, 2017

Hot take: we really need to stop allowing people to say that clothes and makeup are frivolous items that women give too much value. When I’m well dressed, I have more confidence, higher self-esteem, and feel ready to take on the world. While there are things that I value more than my clothes, I do place high value on my self-esteem. And that’s why I believe that you should buy clothes that give you confidence.
