So here’s the skinny on wearing a ruffled sleeve blouse:

High drama sleeves have been popping up everywhere and will definitely be a trend moving forward.  I picked out this polka dot top because of the longer length in the back plus the exposed zipper detail.  This ruffled sleeve blouse is just $19!  The material is pretty lightweight so if you’re somewhere with serious winter, this may be a little too early for you.  What I liked was that it required minimal steaming and is super affordable.

Black and white tops hold a piece of my heart because they’re a blank canvas; you can pair these pieces with most items in your wardrobe without any issue.  For this outfit, I pulled out my marble print leather clutch from Rebecca Minkoff.  This clutch has six card slots inside with room for your keys and phone too. Best of all, they’re always releasing new colors and fabrications — how cute is this velvet one?!

Layering necklaces is my jam and Kendra Scott always has great shorter pieces to achieve this look with.  My exact gray granite Etta necklace has sold out, but is available in blue lapis here as well as white agate {marked down!} here.  Another short layering piece that I love is this Kasey necklace in chocolate drusy that’s been marked down as well. These pieces are all super easy to layer with pendant or statement necklaces to give a sophisticated look that says, “I accessorize like a professional.”

Let’s talk statement earrings!

A jewelry trend that I’m feeling lots of love for is the beloved statement earring. I actually got my ears pierced again over the summer so that I could start wearing earrings again and now I’m starting to stock up on all different kinds of earrings.  Check out some of my favorite statement earrings in the collage below — just click to shop!

These blue earrings that I’m wearing from Happiness Boutique are a reasonable weight {nothing I’d wear for a work day, but easy to wear for an event} and are 10% off when you spend $20 with code whatnicolewore through February 12!  Happiness Boutique is a fashion jewelry boutique based in Berlin that offers trendy and affordable costume jewelry pieces.  Best of all, everything ships for free!  My earrings arrived in just under two weeks which is pretty good for international shipping.

The boutique does offer a rewards program with a point system so you can redeem points for free jewelry!
