Tie Up Embroidered Top

May 16, 2017

Lately, I’ve been working summer pieces into my wardrobe as the Kentucky weather changes over to summer.  We all know I love a blue top, so this one with it’s pretty red embroidery seemed perfect.

The tie front trend is a throwback trend that I’m loving!  During the cooler months, I’d use it to layer over a short sleeve or sleeveless dress to make it more cold weather appropriate.  As we breeze into warmer weather, I like to tie up my longer tops with jeans, skirts and shorts.  I paired this oversized, off the shoulder top with my favorite distressed jeans and some comfy block heels for a casual look.

This coconut drink crossbody bag looked too cute for me to pass up over the weekend when I stopped by the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass.  Since clearance at the Kate Spade store was an additional percentage off, the bag was under $100 too.  The coconut bag is a fun summer twist to this outfit, but you could just as easily go with a red handbag or clutch! {Love this red leather purse!}

I typically go for cat eye or oversized sunglasses so this pair of rectangular frames from Vera Bradley was definitely a departure from my usual.  While I doubt they’ll replace my all time faves, I do like the way these sit on my face and that they feature one of Vera’s signature prints on the sides.

    What a seriously adorable top! I love the tie front – totally how I used to wear ALL my tops in middle school, who knew I was ahead of the times? Haha! That bag is definitely my favorite part of the outfit, though! KS always knows the way to my heart!
