The Rainiest February & Life Lately: Friday Update

Y’all, what a week. {Well what a couple of weeks} Currently living through what feels like the rainiest February ever in Louisville and counting down the days to spring. Keep reading to hear more about life lately, some great weekend sales, and my favorite new arrivals!

Truthfully, it’s been a crazy two weeks for me both personally and professionally. Its felt like there was something going on every single day and so I’m really looking forward to a more laidback last week of February.

Some recent highlights:

• Derby season is truly coming in HOT. I’ve been lucky enough to work on shoots with Today’s Woman Magazine and StyleBlueprint Louisville to really get in the spirit. For those wondering, YES WNW does Derby is coming back for it’s third volume! I’m currently in the process of brainstorming 2018 Kentucky Derby content so if there’s anything you’d like to see whether it be what to wear, more local content, what boutiques or stores you’d like to see included, etc. please let me know in the comments or shoot me an email!
• Greater Louisville Panhellenic Alumnae Luncheon // Last year I begrudgingly attended because one of the Sigma Kappa women I advise thought she’d be attending alone. This year a huge group of us went together and got to watch two of the women from the chapter I advise at receive scholarships. PS. If you’d asked me five years ago if I’d be the type of person that enjoyed luncheons, I’d roll my eyes but here we are.
• Instagram Live // I went live on Instagram Thursday night with Tomi of GoodTomiCha; we chatted for about 30-40 minutes about blogging, being influencers, what made us start our blogs and everything in between! It was so awesome to connect both with her and our audiences. BTW, if you missed it the replay is up on my Instagram until later tonight!
• Black Panther! I went to see one of the opening night showings last Thursday and it was everything I hoped and more. I’m not a big movie person; it had been over a year since I’d seen a movie in theaters, but I’m hoping to actually go see this in theaters AGAIN. Yep, it was that good!
• I met up with Heather from HerKentucky for coffee. We went to Please & Thank You and it was SUCH a great mid week pick me up that it really made me wonder why I don’t get out of the house more. We chatted, both about blogging and life in general, and I got to snag a rosemary lemonade and chocolate chip cookie.
• Honorable mentions: I don’t think I ever wrote about it but we had an awesome Bluegrass Bloggers meet up at The Hub here in Louisville {if you’re a local blogger and not apart of our awesome Facebook group, shoot me an email so I can add you!}, North Lime Donuts just opened a new location today in Louisville and I can’t wait to check it out, and this weekend in the Tulips and Juleps event put on by the Junior League of Louisville – I’m really excited to check it out with my friend Savannah!

• Baublebar is continuing to come out with SO many fun new pieces for spring. Love these tassel earrings in lavender.
• Hard to believe that sandal weather is coming, but these gingham knot sandals are super dreamy.
• I broke down and ordered this pleated cuff blouse.  The color is GORGEOUS!
