Pink Lace Up Sweater with Romwe

January 5, 2017

I’ve been stocking up on winter pieces, like this pink lace up sweater from Romwe, and finally it’s paying off.  It’s been super chilly this week and today we’re supposed to get the first snow of the new year.  While I’m dreading being cold, the first snow of the season always feels kind of magical.

IN THIS POST

Undoubtedly, the lace up sweater has been my favorite trend of the season.  This one has an extra set of rings to lace through, but what really got me was the pretty pink hue.  This isn’t the first time you’ve seen me style a lace up sweater on the blog.  Previously, the looks have been more casual; check them out here and here.

For this go round I’m showing a more refined look that features this faux leather mini skirt from Wild Blue.  Lately, I’ve been adding more skirts to my closet for the winter months.  As I mentioned in Monday’s post, winter fashion wears on me with the bulky layers.  Often, I get around this by pairing layers on the top half with boots, tights and a skirt.

The details

Part of my desire to dress up my pink lace up sweater comes from the fact that I love a good tuck.  Here I went with a loose full tuck into the mini skirt.  Doing this allows the button front detail on the skirt to garner attention while the lace up detail on the sweater is still clearly visible. Win-win.

A cognac, leather tote is a wardrobe staple for every gal.  Mine also is available in a slightly smaller size; I went with this one so that I could use it for work, school and travel.  Major bonus, the zipper pocket on the front of this purse is large enough for you to stow away your iPad or planner.  Best of all, it’s currently 50% off!  The color makes it easy to style year round.
