Work Wear with the Outlet Shoppes

April 12, 2017

My personal style is pretty casual these days but today I’m sharing a work wear look that takes your favorite work staples and updates them with the best trends for spring.  This past weekend, Tif and I went shopping at the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass in preparation for our event this Saturday.  I was able to add some great pieces to my closet and am excited to share them with y’all.  Keep reading to hear more about our shopping spree and to get all the details on a fun giveaway we’re hosting!

What’s the skinny on the Outlet Shoppes?

The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass are just outside of Louisville metro limits and sit just off Interstate 64, making it easy to access for those in the Central Kentucky and Southern Indiana areas.  The Outlet Shoppes opened in July 2014 and feature close to eighty stores.  I love that this center has a variety of high and low stores and so many that I love.  Tif and I both needed to pick up some new items for our event and to refresh our wardrobes for spring so we decided to schedule a girls’ day.

I built this outfit around this contrasting Peter Pan collar blouse from Brooks Brothers.  This shirt has embroidered polka dots and cap sleeves making it the perfect work wear piece for spring.  Here, I styled it with black dress pants from New York & Company, but as the weather continues to get warmer you could tuck this blouse into a pencil skirt.

Devil’s in the details.

While we were shopping, we stopped into the Vera Bradley Outlet; they had just gotten in a ton of the leather pieces from the Sycamore collection, including this cognac leather crossbody purse.  {My favorites were this satchel with leopard calf hair accents, this clutch with the cutest tassel accent, and this wallet!}  If you need a larger bag for work, this tote from J. Crew Factory was seriously calling to me, but I decided it was a bit too similar to my Madewell tote {both of these cognac totes are on sale today!}

Two of the biggest trends this spring are tassels and pom poms; I wanted to tie these in with my jewelry choices so I pulled out a tassel bracelet set that I love from the Francesca’s outlet, a leather watch from Fossil and the cutest ball drop earrings from New York & Company.  Baublebar consistently comes out with great, trendy jewelry pieces but they can run a bit on the high side.  I was thrilled when I spotted these earrings that are very similar to the Crispin Earrings at the New York & Company outlet because they were only $8 {compared to $48} and also come in white.  {UPDATE: they’re on sale for $5 right now! Get a pair!}

An Outlet Shoppes giveaway.

Tif and I had so much fun shopping at the Outlet Shoppes last weekend and wanted to give one local follower a chance to treat themselves!  Be sure to follow both of us on Instagram {my page is here & Tif’s page is here} and check in tonight at 8:30 EST for a chance to win a $250 gift card to the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass.  We’ll be announcing the winner at our event on Saturday which we’d love to see you at! If you can’t make it – no worries, you’re still eligible to win!

A big thank you to the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass for partnering with me on this post.  As always, all opinions are my own.
