How to Make Your Work Outfit Halloween Ready

October 4, 2017

Y’all I missed one post and then that turned into two posts last week and things kind of snowballed. {Why is that always the case?} I had a post all ready to go Monday but to be honest when I woke up and heard the news about Las Vegas, I had no desire to hit publish or promote new content. I hope those of you affected by the tragic events know that I’m thinking of you and those of you that weren’t but are watching are practicing self-care during this emotionally difficult time.

Today I’m back and since it’s the first Wednesday of the month, which means I’m teaming up with my How I Style It ladies! This month we’re all embracing October by sharing looks inspired by Halloween. I wanted to share an easy DIY Chill Pill costume that’s appropriate for the office and easy to assemble.

How to Make Your Work Outfit Halloween Ready | The Inspiration

This look was 100% inspired by Studio DIY; be sure to check out her blog for more DIY costume ideas. I knew I wanted to use pieces that I already had in my closet for this post.  This Chill Pill costume seemed perfect since I’m one of the least chill people ever — oops.

How to Make Your Work Outfit Halloween Ready | How To Recreate

The key is to make sure you pick out solid pieces; I went with this trusty white tank that has been on repeat a ton lately and one of my J. Crew Sidewalk Skirts. These skirts come in all different colors and prints so it’s possible to snag a bold color as well.

If your office is cold or a little more conservative, swap the elastic waist skirt for a solid pencil skirt and the tank for a button up shirt or blouse.
