Testing Out the July 2019 Boxycharm

August 5, 2019

It’s been a minute since I showed how I’ve used my beauty subscription box sot today’s post is all about the July 2019 Boxycharm!  July’s theme was Au Naturale and my box featured five full size beauty items.  This makeup subscription box really pushed me outside of my normal look and I was excited to create a look different than my everyday.

Testing Out the July 2019 Boxycharm | Butter London Natural Goddess Eyeshadow Palette

It’s been awhile since I’ve done anything outside of a neutral eye look so the green and blue in this Butter London palette were much appreciated to create a different look.  The past few months, Boxycharm has included pretty neutral eyeshadow palettes; while I find these to be the most practical, I’m someone that already owns quite a few neutral palettes.

While I loved that they went away from the totally neutral eyeshadow palettes they’ve been trending towards, I wasn’t initially thrilled that this palette didn’t have a matte transition color.  I ended up using Temptress as my transition color, while the shade is a bit darker than I’d usually use I found it easy to blend out.  Since the gel eyeliner I got in this box was a forest green, I decided to use Star, a green metallic shade, all over the eyelid with a little bit of Enchantress and Diva in my inner corner.

To complete the look, I used a liner brush to create a small winged liner on my top lid with Femme Fatale.

Testing Out the July 2019 Boxycharm | What I Got

On top of the Butter London Natural Goddess palette, I received:

  • Alamar Cosmetics Mother of Pearl Gloss in Sirenita // This gloss has a lot of shimmer so I tapped a little onto the middle of my bottom lip after fully lining them.  It’s a scented gloss but isn’t overly sticky.
  • Appeal Cosmetics Gel Liner in Forest Green // Very creamy and easy to apply!
  • Elemis Superfood Vital Veggie Mask // Haven’t tried this yet!
  • Luxie Beauty Gaea Brush Set // This is a 3 brush set that includes a foundation brush, large eye blending brush, and a precision crease brush.  I can be bad about cleaning my eyeshadow brushes so I love getting new ones in to help with brush rotation.

Testing Out the July 2019 Boxycharm | Final Thoughts

Boxycharm costs $21 a month; this month’s box was well worth it in my opinion.  The eyeshadow palette and brush set combined total for a $62 retail cost!
