10 Important Desk Items I Use to Run My Business | What I Use to Stay Organized and Why I Love It

Starting with…to do list notepads.  I’ve linked to this deco and gold one, this Anthropologie daily to do list pad, and this Lilly Pulitzer one.  Really cannot get enough of these; I have one that’s weekly and one that’s a daily to do tracker and find them SO helpful.  I’m able to look over the whole week and track things I need to get done as well as things I need to get done daily.  Using to do lists regularly really helps me stay productive and not forget things.

I’ve talked about it before but I’m a national volunteer for my sorority and so I like to keep notes for that separate from work and personal lists.  I bought a clipboard portfolio last year and have found it so useful.  I can put documents I need into the pockets, use the clipboard during conference calls, and even take it with me on the go.

10 Important Desk Items I Use to Run My Business | Are Business Cards Dead?

Short answer: no.  I know of people in marketing and social media that use their social media profiles as a digital business card and while that definitely can work, I prefer to have the traditional business card.  I’m actually about to reorder mine and am toying with the idea of changing the look of mine, but I recommend getting a thicker paper than the standard option so that your card has some weight.  {You want your business card to feel serious and substantial.}

Not gonna lie, I keep a few of my business cards tucked away in a variety of wallets and purses so that I know I’ll have one with me.  However when I know there’s a good chance of an opportunity to share my business card, I carry a business card holder.  There’s tons of different styles and I think it’s fun to pick one that shows off your personality!
