Here Comes the Stripes Lace Up Top

October 24, 2016

Hello from the other side of the weekend! This was my monthly weekend off work and the first time one in a few that hasn’t been jam packed with things I had to do.  As usual, always grateful to be able to rest up and enjoy some low-key time to myself.

I ended up wearing this casual look for Big Blue Madness; I blogged about another Kentucky blue outfit a couple weeks ago that you can check out here.  Lace up tops have been a huge trend this fall and I love how this one is in the form of a comfy, oversized rugby style shirt.  I knew as soon as I saw it that I had to have this blue and white striped number for basketball season.  The longer length means that its acceptable to wear with leggings or ponte pants like these, but it’s also easy to throw on with a pair of jeans.

Cooler temperatures means I’ve been able to break out my tall boots.  I love the way brown boots look and the zipper detail on this pair.  The bold blue stripes in my shirt go perfectly with my personalized tote from Things Remembered too.  Wearing such bold color, I wanted to wear unique jewelry that could make a statement without being over the top.  I’ve been loving my double rings and wore this pearl one for Big Blue Madness.  I also wore my short black druzy necklace, the perfect length with the lace up detail of this top, and my brand new Brook Stud earrings from the winter collection.  I love that the black druzy pieces are in gunmetal for a sleek and chic look.
