With more makeup comes less counter space though and eventually you have to figure out how to organize your growing makeup collection. I got my first acrylic organizer two or three years ago when my makeup collection first grew to be bigger than the bathroom drawer it previously had all fit it. I’m 99% sure I bought mine from At Home; the drawers on these are actually stackable & can be found separately which is perfect if you’re someone that keeps accumulating skincare or beauty products.

The wide set drawers were what I first bought because they could fit my {very first} eyeshadow palette as well as things like blush and bronzer. Back at this point in my life, I wore very little lipstick or liquid foundation {WHAT A TIME!} and so the top organizer part held mascara, brushes, and random beauty tools like tweezers and nail trimmers.

Fast forward to today and I have a TON of beauty tools, makeup, and skincare items. I recently decided to repurpose a rolling cart I had and it has given me so much space back. {You may remember this cart from my Valentine’s Day bar cart post!} I’ve taken all of my extra baskets and the five million and one mugs I own and have figured out different ways to use them to organize all my beauty goodies on this cart. The acrylic organizers are still great for holding things like brushes, bronzers, and individual blushes but the baskets are great for all of my sheet masks.

As you guys know, I have a little bit of a lipstick collection problem and so I use the acrylic organizer to home most of my lipsticks but also figured out that mugs are an inexpensive way to hold longer tubes of lip gloss and liquid lipstick as well.

How to Organize Your Growing Makeup Collection | What About All the Palettes?
Taking a break from this to say: I really did not think I had that many makeup and eyeshadow palettes until my friend Courtney did a destash video on Instagram Live over the weekend and it hit me that yes, I too have a problem. Since palettes are so popular, both for makeup enthusiasts and brands, I don’t foresee my collection shrinking. While I have bought a few palettes, they’re also popular in gifts from brands and while I love them mine were starting to stack up and clutter my counters.

Since they wouldn’t all fit in the acrylic drawers, I ended up brainstorming until I found a basket I had that would fit most of the eyeshadow palettes. Standing them up saves me a lot of room both on the makeup cart and also has freed up so much of my bathroom counters.

I use some of those clear acrylic containers too! Problem is I have very counter/drawer space and only one closet in my house!!
The clear acrylic organizers are an awesome idea! That way you can see where everything is, plus they look pretty too!!

I’ve in the process of organizing mine. I’m buying the stuff from ikea to create a desk. It’s the one that all the beauty vloggers have! I have way too much makeup and so glad it will be easy to find once I organize it haha!!
