Button Up That Shirt – Let’s Flamingle

May 15, 2017

Last month, I did some major shopping at the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass and added some fun new pieces to my closet – including this fun flamingo top.  One thing about outlet finds is that you’re finding something that isn’t as widely available.  This flamingo top is sold out online, but I’ve linked it {and the matching ankle pants — see how Tif styled them here!} in case you want to try and track it down at your outlet center! We all know I have a ton of clothing so while I didn’t need anything, I did focus on buying some new pieces to take me through spring and summer.

Flamingo Top | What’s the Skinny?

Utility blouses remain a closet staple for me due to how easy you can take them from work to play.  Tuck one into a pencil or a-line skirt for the office and then front tuck it into your favorite pair of jeans for the weekend.  While you can find them in just about every solid color, I prefer to pick out fun prints.  Usually, I buy mine from Express or LOFT, but I’d been wanting to branch out so I was excited to find this flamingo top at the New York and Company Outlet.  {Sidetone: How cute is this sleeveless utility blouse for summer?! Love the cherry print!}

This flamingo top caught my eye immediately with the cute critter print, but I also loved the colors.  I know I’ll be able to pair this with a mint skirt or pink pants.  The print was also in ankle pants that were super cute.  Finding prints with a variety of hues always makes it easy to pair your pieces with different items in your closet.

Flamingo Top | Devil’s in the Details.

I pulled out my cat eye, mirrored sunglasses for a modern feel.  Mirrored lenses bring a fun and playful vibe that I think is perfect for summer.  {Just picked up this under $20 pair over the weekend!}  I went with two statement jewelry pieces in my necklace and cocktail ring.  I’ve had this mint necklace forever, but still love the fun bib design plus mint is one of my favorite accent colors to feature.

Kendra Scott seems to always hit it out of the park for me; I’ve been saying for the past couple years how I’m glad there’s not a store nearby.  Luckily for me {but not my wallet}, the first Kentucky store just opened in Lexington last week!  While the pieces can be pricy, the quality is wonderful; I’ve had my Elisa necklace for two years with no issues and I wear it almost daily.

I’ve gotten lucky a few times now and managed to find pieces on crazy markdown; this Naomi Ring was a killer eBay find at just $35 and I’ve been lucky enough to score a couple of pieces at my Nordstrom Rack.
