One thing I’m not taking for granted this summer is being able to wear lipstick more often. Last summer, masks made it tough for me to justify all the time, but this summer I’m trying to rock the bold lip as often as I can. My go to has been Okurrr from Kylie Cosmetics but it’s discontinued and mine is almost empty. I bought this Too Faced matte liquid lipstick in the shade It’s Happening after hearing it was a similar shade.

I don’t like the formula as much as my Kylie Cosmetics liquid lipstick; it stays for a few hours but then does tend to flake off whereas the Kylie formula has great staying power.

Another thing I’m enjoying being able to wear again this summer is statement earrings! I all but gave up on them when I had to wear masks all the time because I tended to get my earrings caught on the mask straps. While I’ve started masking up more lately, it’s been nice to throw on fun statement earrings this summer. This pink pair from Kendra Scott look like coral and are from their lightweight collection which means no heavy tugging on the earlobes. It’s no secret that I love a short pendant necklace; this star shaped one is adjustable and a nice switch up from my many Elisa necklaces.

Easy Breezy Dresses for the DC Heat | Currently Looking At
I haven’t done too much clothes shopping this month due to the heat; in very practical purchases, I bought two new pairs of my favorite Nike shorts because I’ve outgrown the size I had. What’s been catching my eye lately is summer dresses. I want things I can throw on, enjoy the breeze in, and not have to worry about getting unnecessarily sweaty in. While I’m still weighing if I want to splurge on the Farm Rio dress I’ve been eyeing for a month now, I also have some affordable favorites linked above. I ordered two of the dresses over the weekend and am excited to get them in. Beware: they are backordered right now.
