A Personal Update I’m Excited to Share: I’m Moving!

August 5, 2020

I’ve been waiting to write this post for MONTHS and it feels surreal to finally be doing it!  You probably can guess from the title of the post but I’m moving…back to Northern Virginia. Moving during a pandemic is for sure a different experience, but I’m so thankful things have worked out and for this new chapter.

How to Make the Starbucks Iced Matcha Pineapple at Home

August 3, 2020

Back in June, I was going through the drive thru by my house and saw the Starbucks Iced Matcha Pineapple drink.  Despite the fact that I’ve never been a big matcha fan, I ordered it and it was love at first sip.  It quickly became my go-to drink.  While I’ve been mostly staying at home this summer, once in awhile I’d want a change of scenery and grab a drink at the drive thru and then work from my car in the parking lot.  The drink comes out to be about $6 so after refilling my Starbucks card a couple times, I decided I needed to see if I could make the drink at home.

I Honestly Have No Idea What I’m Doing

It’s hard to believe that we’re almost in August. Where has 2020 gone? This year has shaken up many things including how I feel about blogging. I’ll dive in, but I’ve felt like I have no idea how to use this space which has been tough.

Why I Wear a Mask + Fun Face Masks for You

July 13, 2020

It’s hard to believe we are halfway through the year and have been living under pandemic restrictions for four months now.  With so much about coronavirus still being unknown, I’ve leaned towards being more cautious.  I wear a mask when I’m inside stores or can’t maintain distance from others in outdoor spaces, have mostly avoided gatherings with those I don’t live with, and plan to continue doing so.

Black Lives Matter Shouldn’t Be Political

June 8, 2020

The last few weeks have been beyond intense.  I’ve felt every emotion under the sun: furious, sad, defeated, unsure.  And then suddenly, public opinion changed and it seemed as if people began to understand that Black Lives Matter isn’t a political issue, but a human rights one.  Most of my life, I’ve been careful when talking about race because it can be closely related to politics.  Growing up, I was taught to be cautious when talking publicly about politics or religion because the conversations could become uncomfortable.

But then last week, it seemed like people wanted to have the uncomfortable conversations and hear how to do better.
