Advice to My 18 Year Old Self: What I Learned & $700 Giveaway

August 28, 2017

I spent the weekend with some of my younger sorority sisters for their recruitment weekend.  As always, it was wonderful to connect with them and to hear what’s in their hearts as they prepare to welcome new members to our sisterhood.  While it was refreshing and inspiring, it also got me to think about what I was like at 18 so I wanted to share some of the great pieces of advice to my 18 year old self.  Plus, be sure to scroll to the bottom for a chance to win a $700 Target gift card!

Closet Workhorse: Why You Need a Little Black Dress

August 22, 2017

A few weeks ago I got a panicked text from one of the women I advise. My younger sorority sister wanted to know what she could wear to a job interview that was already in her closet. {Mind you, I’ve never gone through Anne’s closet so making a quick choice should’ve been a challenge.} Instead, I almost immediately was able to tell her the closet workhorse that would be perfect for the occasion: the little black dress.

Why You Need to Experience Your Own Blogging Journey

July 31, 2017

Last week, I tweeted out a hot take that’s been on my mind for awhile.  “New bloggers, please stop sending messages to bloggers you don’t know expecting them to consult with you for free. It’s taken a lot of trial and error to get to this point on my own, you need to experience that journey too.”  I expected to immediately see some backlash, but everyone’s responses were in agreement.  Your business and blogging journey should be unique to you!
