Daydreaming About Consistency, My Word of the Year

January 11, 2021

While I’m not big on New Year’s resolutions, I do try to think of a word of the year or theme to work on. I find that having this broader option allows me to give myself some grace and create attainable goals that fit to outside circumstances. (See last year’s word of the year for a great example of this!)

One week into the new year and I’m already questioning myself about this choice, but it’s also been a reminder that choosing a word is better than setting concrete goals.

Friday Five: Dark Start to the New Year, Good News, and Binge Watching

January 8, 2021

What a week. I had every intention of getting a couple blog posts up this week and they did not want to happen. On what can be described only as an unprecedented start to the new year, it’s hard for me to dive into the more frivolous things. But I wanted to share the things I’m loving right now in hope that they may be a happy distraction for you too.

Removable Wallpaper: The Good & the Bad

December 28, 2020

I feel like I’ve had enough time to see my removable wallpaper and how it’s held up to give an honest review. If you’re new here: hi, I moved into a new house back in September and knew that I’d be painting my new bedroom ASAP. The room has a chair rail; the top is painted lavender while the bottom was a purple candy stripe.

When Everything Intersects…on 2020

December 21, 2020

It’s the last full week of December and somehow I’m just now writing my first blog post of the month. {Oops!} A couple months ago, I tried to sit down and write about how I was feeling about *waves hands around* everything and could not get it to flow in the right way. As much as I want to believe that someday this very intense year will make sense, it’s also ok if it doesn’t. Since we’re wrapping up the year though, it felt like a natural time to share one of my big takeaways on how everything intersects plus an update on my 2020 word of the year.
