June 20, 2017

As a gal on the go, my phone has to be close by.  In today’s post, I’m sharing seven of the apps that allow me to rock my social media regardless of where I am and how they can help you — even if you’re not a blogger!  Sharing powerful social media is so important in today’s business world.

Kentucky style blogger, What Nicole Wore, shares 7 must-have phone apps to create striking and powerful social media for bloggers, small business owners, and marketing.

I’m not going to mention the actual social media sites, like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, since we all know they’re value, but I am going to share how I manage social shares and the like!  So let’s get to it.  When I first started What Nicole Wore, I {naively} thought that creating great content was all I needed to do to draw readers.  These days, each blog post is shared to at least 10-15 other places.  While at first this was super overwhelming, I’ve learned to streamline the process as much as I can.

Bloggers have to do WAY more than just create kickass content. Some of the tools that help: Click To Tweet

Brunch Talk: Why I’m Making 2017 the Year of Saying No

May 13, 2017

2016 was without a doubt the year that I “fell back in love with myself.” It sounds odd {and a little corny} I know, but after taking control of my mental health, it was the first time in a LONG time that I felt like myself again.  For the first time, I wasn’t saying no to everything! Admittedly, it was pretty empowering, but scary at times too. I found myself doing things I’d been scared of the past handful of years and so it’s not hard for me to say that 2016 was the year I said yes. Yes to new experiences, yes to stepping outside of my comfort zone and yes to pushing myself – mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

So you can see how it sounds like a bit of a regression to come out and say that 2017 is my year of saying no. I promise it’s not and I’m excited to share why. While learning to say yes was important, this year I’m seeing that it’s just as important to recognize and respect my own personal limits by saying no.

Saying No | With My Personal Life

Can we be real? Like really real? I shut off my personal life for a few years. Struggling with my self image made it difficult for me to maintain friendships {huge shoutout to my friends that have stuck by and dealt with me in every various stage I’ve gone through} and the idea of dating was completely laughable.

Top Tips for Outlet Shopping with the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass

April 20, 2017

Let’s be honest — shopping always sounds fun but can be overwhelming in the moment.  A couple weekends ago, I had a girls’ day with one of my blogger besties, Tif, at the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass.  If you missed my post from Tuesday on the event we hosted you can read it here & Tif’s recap here!  Keep reading for my top tips for outlet shopping and some of my favorite outlet finds.

Top Tips for Outlet Shopping | Your Shopping Partner, Your List + Your Budget

Having the right partner in crime is so key.  We all know the situation; you go shopping with your significant other and three stores in, he leans over and says, “So we’re done now, right?”  While I’ve been spoiled by the fact that the Outlet Shoppes are a twenty minute drive from my house before the Bluegrass center opened, the closest outlet center was an hour and a half away.   If you’re making the haul, be sure to choose a shopping partner that can hang with you.

Before our girls’ day, Tif and I each made a loose list of the kind of outfits we wanted to pick up during our shopping trip. While you will inevitably see an item you love that’s not on your list, knowing what you’re shopping for will make the trip easier.  For those wondering, I said that I would for sure purchase pieces for three outfits: work wear, casual and Easter.  While you’re shopping keep this list in mind so that the pieces you buy meet your objectives.

Finally, think about the money!  So many people see the word ‘sale’ and lose their mind.  If you know exactly how much you want to spend before you even park, you’ll save yourself from a lot of buyers’ remorse.
