Button Up That Shirt – Let’s Flamingle

May 15, 2017

Last month, I did some major shopping at the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass and added some fun new pieces to my closet – including this fun flamingo top.  One thing about outlet finds is that you’re finding something that isn’t as widely available.  This flamingo top is sold out online, but I’ve linked it {and the matching ankle pants — see how Tif styled them here!} in case you want to try and track it down at your outlet center! We all know I have a ton of clothing so while I didn’t need anything, I did focus on buying some new pieces to take me through spring and summer.

Brunch Talk: Why I’m Making 2017 the Year of Saying No

May 13, 2017

2016 was without a doubt the year that I “fell back in love with myself.” It sounds odd {and a little corny} I know, but after taking control of my mental health, it was the first time in a LONG time that I felt like myself again.  For the first time, I wasn’t saying no to everything! Admittedly, it was pretty empowering, but scary at times too. I found myself doing things I’d been scared of the past handful of years and so it’s not hard for me to say that 2016 was the year I said yes. Yes to new experiences, yes to stepping outside of my comfort zone and yes to pushing myself – mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Brunch Talk: Why to Make This the Year of Saying No Click To Tweet

So you can see how it sounds like a bit of a regression to come out and say that 2017 is my year of saying no. I promise it’s not and I’m excited to share why. While learning to say yes was important, this year I’m seeing that it’s just as important to recognize and respect my own personal limits by saying no.

Saying No | With My Personal Life

Can we be real? Like really real? I shut off my personal life for a few years. Struggling with my self image made it difficult for me to maintain friendships {huge shoutout to my friends that have stuck by and dealt with me in every various stage I’ve gone through} and the idea of dating was completely laughable.

Like Big Bows & I Cannot Lie

May 10, 2017

Ladies we have to talk.  Come summertime, gingham becomes my print of choice.  So it wasn’t shocking at all, when this gingham bow blouse made its way into my shopping cart.  With three bows across the back, the top gives a twist to the traditional gingham button down and is breezy enough for summer.

Last Minute Mother’s Day Shopping

May 9, 2017

Scroll to Shop | Last Minute Mother’s Day Gifts

Mother’s Day has snuck all the way up on me so today I wanted to share a round up of easy & stylish gifts for all the Moms in your life.  These last minute Mother’s Day gifts are mostly items I love, use all the time and all ship for free.

    1. GLAMGLOW MultiMasking Treatment Set | A few weeks ago, while I was dealing with some awful skin problems, I took to Instagram to ask my followers their favorite skincare masks.  The GlamGlow products were highly recommended.  It seemed like everyone had a different favorite when it came to which mask to use; I always enjoy getting sampler gifts like this so that I can see what I like and try a variety without committing.  This kit runs for under $50 with five different products to test.  If your mom deserves to be pampered this is the last minute Mother’s Day gift for you.
    2. Queen Bee Mug | Mugs tend to be the add on item that I throw in with whatever big gift I pick out for my mom.  For friends or other family members that you may be putting gifts together for, I really like to get either a coffee sampler from Starbucks or a small baking mix to make my own gift set.  With a price tag under $15, this mug is perfect for the Queen Bee in your life and an easy to assemble last minute Mother’s Day present.
    3. Ray-Ban Clubmaster Sunglasses | These frames flatter most face shapes and come in a variety of finishes, lenses and sizes.  The pair I wear a ton have black frames and blue mirrored lenses.  While this gift falls into the splurge category at $175, it’s one that the lucky mom in your life will be able to use a ton this summer and year round.
    4. Longchamp Le Pliage Tote | A couple weeks ago, I mentioned that my leather Vera Bradley tote rarely gets showcased on the blog, but used almost every day.  My Longchamp bag also falls into this category!  The bag is waterproof with leather handles and a small interior pocket.  The inside can be wiped down with a wipe and {perhaps my favorite feature}, the bag can be folded down into a small pouch making it perfect for travel.  The easy clean up aspect also makes the bag ideal for mom’s with little ones or the active mom that hits the gym.
    5. Kendra Scott Elisa Necklace | It’s no secret that this necklace has a special place in my heart so I’ll try not to wax poetic about it yet again.  Perfect for layering or wearing alone, this necklace comes in a variety of stone and color options.  I have it in two different druzy stones as well as one abalone shell; all three have held up well and act as an every day necklace for me.  These necklaces come wrapped beautifully with a travel bag making it easy to gift at the last minute.
    6. ‘You Make the World Better’ Succulent | Succulents stay cute without too much {read: any} effort.  Mine’s been sitting next to my window for a year now and just keeps growing.  This one comes in a super cute pot with the sweetest message.  Snag it now for $12!
    7. Madewell Transport Tote | This carryall tote comes in soft leather and a rich hue. While I grabbed the cognac shown above, it does come in black and with the opposite color handles.  This tote does not zip or have any closure at the top, but does have a small interior zipper pocket for keys and phone.
    8. Sugarfina Candy Set | I still haven’t tried these out but they seem to be a cult favorite.  This set has a few of Sugarfina’s popular candy items and comes in a super cute box for Mom!
    9. MAC Red Lip Kit | While Kylie makes my favorite liquid lipstick, MAC claims my top spot for traditional lipstick.  With a wide variety of colors and finishes, there’s multiple options for every skin tone and age.  Nordstrom carries these kits in nude and pink as well so if red’s not your Mom’s cup of tea — no worries.  Each kit includes a lip liner, lipstick and liquid lipstick in coordinating shades.
    10. I Am Very Busy Tote | Ban.do hit it out of the park when they started making novelty items with the ‘I Am Very Busy’ phrase.  Since this accurately defines #MomLife, I had to include it for the new mom, toddler mom, any mom in your life!
