What Nicole Wore: Blanket Scarves + Gingham

I can wear colored denim to work during the week and it’s felt like I’ve been living in my black and white jeans ever since it started cooling off in Louisville. I decided to get adventurous and add a couple colors to my collection recently and I’m really loving this olive pair. I’ve talked about these jeans before but they’re the only pair I’ve found recently that fit me in the waist, hips and thighs without alterations which means they’re a major winner in my book.

IG Roundup

October 26, 2015

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I recently began using a new affiliate program. I previously had simply tagged the store items came from and am really excited about my Instagram now being shoppable. By signing up to LikeToKnow.it, users are able to like an instagrammers photo or head to a direct link to shop exact or similar items. As always, I strive to blog with integrity and would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

modern and chic blanket scarf {exact linked, available here under $11} + old navy long cardigan {sold out, similar linked | also seen here} + roz and ALI black jeans + pink captoe flats {also seen here} + kate spade new york wallet {similar}

The last thing I really needed was a new blanket scarf, but when I found this deal on LivingSocial for $12.99, I couldn’t pass it up. These scarves are SUCH good quality, super soft, not itchy and squares which makes them so much easier to tie and wrap. I love the mint accompanied with more traditional fall colors in this plaid, because of how versatile it makes the accessory.

What Nicole Wore: All Wrapped Up
Shop the post: blanket scarf {also seen here} + navy pullover sweater {similar} + olive shirt {also seen here} + blue jeans + watch + michael kors purse {exact color sold out} + nail polish + tall boots + olive puffer vest {similar linked and another here}

This weekend was so much fun. After work on Friday, I headed to Lexington for Big Blue Madness (for the very first time!). We got in late and missed this truly iconic moment that happened after Coach Mitchell said he was retiring the BBM dances, but we got to see the ladies scrimmage (then dance) and all of the men’s basketball action.

Saturday we headed back to Lexington to shop, catch the end of the Bourbon Chase (ummm who knew this was a thing?) and check out some pre-season NBA action with the Pelicans and Kings.  Seeing the UK alum play again in Rupp is always so cool. It was super chilly on Saturday so I bundled up since I knew we’d be walking around and probably freezing on the way to the car after the game. If anything, I may have overdone the layering, but in my mind you can never be too safe.What Nicole Wore: All Wrapped Up

I knew pretty early on that I wanted to add an olive puffer vest to my collection this year and this one from Francesca’s is perfect. It’s already sold out online, but your local boutique may have a few in stock if you’re lucky. The vest also comes in navy and black.  The pocket detailing on these remind me a lot of J. Crew’s retail puffer vests.

Halloween Party Favors

October 15, 2015

Gifting is one of my favorite things for a wide variety of reasons: I love shopping, people are so touched when you show them appreciation and it brings in my creative side.

What Nicole Wore: Halloween Party Favors
shop the post: scalloped popcorn boxes + 1.5″ monogram decals + halloween box sign
I was minding my own business at Target when I saw these popcorn holders in the dollar section and knew they’d be the perfect little something to spruce up.

As shown, they came in a black with white polka dots, white with black stripes and white with orange chevron that is perfect for Halloween. I volunteer with a local chapter of my sorority and thought these would be super cute for the girls that live in our house.

While the containers are super cute, I decide to upgrade them by ordering monogram decals. I opted for 1.5″ decals in a metallic gold and to just do first and last initials. This size decal typically runs at under $3.

The end result was really cute! I love the gold metallic monograms that personalized the gift and plan on sitting a small card in front of each box that says “Housing Corp is sweet on you!”

There’s still plenty of time before Halloween to make a set of your own for an upcoming party, friends, coworkers or your little ones.
