As Seen on Instagram: What I Wore

What Nicole Wore: Yellow Stripes
Forever 21 Yellow Striped Boatneck {old, similar in navy} + Vera Bradley Travel Organizer + Toms Black Glitter Slip Ons + Roz & ALI stretch denim via Dressbarn + Perry Street necklace c/o Rocksbox {similar} + Monroe Necklace via GroopDealz {old} + OPI nail polish

1. This Vera travel wallet has 11 card slots, a slot for cash, a place for a boarding pass and a place for your passport. I’ve mentally started the countdown until I’m on vacation and I can’t wait! 2. People (including myself) complain about the quality of Forever21 clothing but I’ve had this shirt for 4 years. 3. I got to keep this necklace for $0 thanks to Rocksbox — have you signed up yet? If not, use code whatnicoleworexoxo at checkout for a sweet surprise (cough cough a free month).

What Nicole Wore: Burgundy Blazer
INC Clothing Burgundy Blazer {thrifted, similar} + 6 Degrees striped turtleneck dress via Macy’s {old, similar} + Loren Hope necklace c/o Rocksbox {sold out} + kate spade new york Gold Coast Quilted Maryanne {thrifted} + Target gold glitter loafers {similar in navy, on sale}

I love thrifting. Like a lot, a lot. Nothing makes me happier than finding the nice brands I love at prices that are more comfortable to my wallet. This purse was the apple of my eye forever. I watched as it went on sale and still sadly shook my head because it was more than I wanted to pay for it. I went into my local Clothes Mentor recently and low and behold, here was the purse of my dreams sitting right in front of me. At $165, it was a lot more reasonable to me than the MSRP was.

I’m super picky about blazers. I love the silhouette and professional touch they add to an outfit but I usually feel strange about the fit.  I always want to try them on which means no online shopping – a true hardship for me.  I was killing time on a day off and went into the Goodwill by my house, tried this one on and really liked it. Even better, it’s machine washable! The color is unique to my closet so at $5, it was quite the find.

What Nicole Wore: Embellished Flowers
Ann Taylor Beaded & Sequined Tank {consignment find} + Charlotte Russe belt {similar} + Francesca’s Collections Dress [worn as skirt] {similar} + Beaded Tassel Necklace c/o Charming Charlie {old, similar} + Clarks USA flats + Essie Polish
 Once I figured out that I could wear dresses multiple ways, it seemed like my closet got even more endless. Wear it as a dress, wear it as a blouse, wear it as a skirt. This dress from Francesca’s is super cute for summer, but the extreme racerback cut on it makes it A. hard to wear a normal bra with and B. not exactly work appropriate.  I grabbed a black tee with shoulder details I found while thrifting that’s H&M and layered the Ann Taylor tank over it before flipping both up so that the full skirt of the dress was visible. Then I belted the tops into place — using a normal to wider belt allows you to maneuver the bulginess of the cloth underneath and make the getup look like separates. I love the turquoise in this outfit and it even coordinates with the nail polish I got in my #InstaEasterBasket (thanks Traci!)

target shell cardigan via thredUP + white tee via Sam’s Club {similar option} + Roz & ALI denim via dressbarn + perry street necklace c/o rocksbox + kendra scott necklace c/o rocksbox

I am (if anyone can’t tell) really, really loving Rocksbox. I’m not a subscription box person so I was a bit skeptical about it, but when they reached out to me offering a 3 month membership I accepted wanting to see what everyone was talking about. I’ve found that it’s perfect for me because I own so many necklaces. And so many of them fall to wayside or stop getting worn after they’re no longer trendy (love looking at you bubble necklaces, j crew inspired rose necklace, fan fringe necklaces, etc. RIP).  Rocksbox works for me because I can keep my box for weeks if I like the pieces or I can send it back and get a new box in a few days. The shipping turn around for me has been super fast and the fact that your return label is included and also printable is beyond convenient.

old navy black gingham button down + hm coral chino pants + kendra scott necklace c/o rocksbox + loren hope necklace c/o rocksbox + target leopard print loafers + michael kors watch + sage k and co spike bracelet + target bracelet + versona bracelet
old navy black gingham button down {similar} + hm coral chino pants {similar} + kendra scott necklace c/o rocksbox + loren hope necklace c/o rocksbox + target leopard print loafers {similar here, here and here – Clarks is one of my favorite shoe brands because of how comfortable they are!} + michael kors watch + sage k and co spike bracelet + target mint bracelet + versona bracelet {similar}

I feel like I wear this gingham button down all. the. time. I try not to but it’s certainly an item that has definitely justified it’s cost per wear. I wanted to add some color to it so I paired it with my coral pants from H&M and threw on the Loren Hope necklace that was in my latest Rocksbox. The leopard print loafers are always a fun and easy way to pattern mix; pattern mixing beginners, accessories and shoes are a great way to start pattern mixing without feeling like you’re all over the print spectrum.

So obsessed with this Kendra Scott Elisa necklace in the drusy too. It’s cute and dainty but also great for layering.

What Nicole Wore: Chambray Shirt
old navy polka dot chambray shirt {old, similar here and here} + versona accessories rose gold necklace + gap factory skinny belt {similar} + roz & ALI white denim via dressbarn + michael kors bag via macy’s {sold out, similar} + target leopard print loafers {similar, on sale}

I talked in last week’s post about participating in style challenges — Katy (@wearwhatwhere on instagram) had ‘dressed up denim’ as the prompt that inspired this outfit. I purchased my MK bag when I was helping with a company launch at Macy’s because I was drawn to the bright color. I’m so glad summer is creeping up and I’m finally seasonally appropriate in my brights. I’m not so thrilled about my allergies….

Hope you had a great week; thanks so much for reading 🙂

xo,

Nicole

    You are so stinkin’ fabulous my friend!! I LOVE them all!! The first one is probably my favorite though! I love the yellow & pairing of those necklaces. Also, that clutch is amazing! But, like I said, they are all so gorgeous! 🙂
